Kindred Spirits and Invention Tech Trees

The second May Weekend rumbled through Gielinor, picking up players and planting them in areas best suited for Dungeoneering activities and raids. RuneScapers forgot that the sun existed, spending their time killing monsters, solving puzzles and having fun with their friends in Gielinor. Jagex staff, on the other hand, allowed themselves to relax after dropping a video about a new quest and their improvements concerning updated Invention Tech Trees.

Let’s tackle these new developments in order. First up is the new quest line, called Kindred Spirits. Mod Raven says that this quest will test your moral fibre and goes to note that if you’re anything like the people working at Jagex, yours is out the window and dying. Knowing the gaming community as we do, that doesn’t sound too far off the truth, to be honest.

You should receive information about the lore surrounding the Barrows brothers, their motivations. After playing through these quests, they should no longer be creepy monsters you have to fight.

Apparently, Sliske is making the brothers go through various tasks and challenges and you have to help them, because reasons. Still, the big Sliske event should be exciting, so we guess it’s worth it to go through the trouble of helping them out. Especially when you keep in mind, that the quests should be quite dark and twisted with some humor sprinkled in.

To talk about more practical stuff, the quest will start after speaking to Linza in Berthorpe. You can find her near the smithy. To start the journey, you will have to have 60 Agility, Herblore, Crafting, and Smithing, as well, as completed Missing, Presumed Dead quest.

The second exciting news were concerning new Invention Tech Trees. You will need at least 40 Invention to gain access, and two parallel trees will be available, one Dwarven, one Goblin. You will also gain access to several cool new devices, like Melee and Magic Versions of a Cannon, a Sprinkler, which will water your allotments, and a Mind-Controlled Monkey Butler, which works the same as Alathazdrar the Demon Butler, only completely free. Let’s hope PETA doesn’t start a riot.

The easiest place to gain access to the new features is in the Invention Guild, on the notice board.

So, Kindred Spirits and Invention Tech Trees. While the first feature promises to be dark, funny, and quite wicked, the second will be techy, interesting, cool, and plain damn crazy. We will see you on the 23rd of May, when Kindred Spirits start.
