What Happened on the Weekend?

Like all other weekends during the Mega May promotion, this weekend was full of players, taking part in the promoted section of the game; Slayer activities, in this case.

If Slayer stuff wasn’t your thing, Jagex also dropped a trailer for the upcoming Kindred Spirits quest and released a podcast, where Mod Osborne discussed Guthix, Mod Raven talked about his favourite music, and the Player Support team chatted about their social media work.

A developer Q&A concerning the Void Knight Outpost rework has also been released.

Browsing reddit after the weekend, it quickly became apparent that some dedicated players earned millions upon millions of Slayer XP this weekend, unless circumstances, like real-life duties, stopped them from playing. That is a weekend promotion well done, in our opinion.

The Kindred Spirits Trailer was short but suitably creepy. You can look for yourself right here:

According to the developers of the Void Knight Outpost rework, it will only be a graphical, if awesome, update. Some better looking boats and houses will be added, the atmosphere in the zone will be dark and gloomy, with a perpetual storm going on, to suite the mood of the Void Knigts. At the moment, Void Knight Outpost is like Britain; it always rains there. If some kind of new content is released, that will change.

Also, there are plans to bring the number of players required lower. The reasoning is that the Void Knight Outpost is an old zone, players got stronger gear, their Combat skill is better trained, so it should be fine. We can’t help but agree.

Currently, there are no plans to adjust the lore of Void Knight Outpost to bring the zone into the Sixth Age; however, some developers are trying to make it happen.

For those who are worried that the Void Knight quest chain will be affected by the rework, relax, it will stay more or less the same, with some parts moving from the beach to the hearth, for example.

Altogether, players killed a lot of monsters this week and some news about upcoming content was released. If you’re one for scandal and intrigue, these are not the droids you’re looking for, friend.
